The so-called revenue Bishop passed out of the Senate (hitting the working poor; gutting film incentives that are rebuilding Highland Park and adding much-needed excitement to Michigan) are more than outspent by the elimination of Mike Bishop's MBT surcharge. (After letting Cassis write the MBT and ignoring much better alternatives, I think it's only fair to name the surcharge after him.)

If Mike Bishop governed half as well as he spins, we would have been out of this mess years ago.

that the offset in credits will only cover, at best, the first year of a phase-out of the surcharge. After that, it's deficit spending for everyone!

Bishop's "perspective" stinks. It doesn't solve anything. It flushes the state down the toilet and out to the bottom of the ocean.

I'm just so offended at his arrogance and hope others are too.

Bishop's arrogance will be his downfall (4.00 / 2)

Do you know anyone who likes him? If he was a popular and successful politician, Republican's ratings wouldn't be on a continual downward slope. He's the face of Republicans statewide and he's pulling them all down. Bishop=Bush.

Dillon and Bishop Are Probably Just Keeping to their Secret Agreement (4.00 / 1)

Bishop deserves the contempt he is held in but do not forget the fact that alleged Democratic Speaker Dillon and the House Democratic Caucus that elected Dillon are the people who gave Bishop control over the House. Had Dillon done his job and not just signed whatever the agreement was with Bishop, the state budget would have been resolved. Where is Dillon's secret agreement? It probably says that the budget will be done Bishop's way. Bishop is just what he says he, Dillon is not what he holds himself out to be.

are miserable excuses for "leadership." Neither are controlling the interests of the hen house for citizens.

Agreement or no agreement, Dillon's lack of leadership has made it more difficult for the governor to do her job.
