Mike Bishop stated in a radio interview that he was determined to support the "right to work" legislation introduced by Nancy Cassis. Because the Michigan government is 2/3 Democratically controlled, Bishop doesn't believe that the government has the "intestinal fortitude" to support Cassis' bills.
"The best way to get that done is by way of voter initiative. Just like we did with the SBT ... if anybody were to step up and do that again and put this on the ballot, I'm willing to believe the citizens of this state are willing to make a dramatic change."
And that's the end game right there. "Right to work (like an illegal immigrant)" will bust the unions, and busting the unions is every Republican's dream.
It's not Mike Bishop for Governor. It's Mike Bishop for President.
Umm .. am I the only person who's noticed that Michigan's economy was strong when our unions were strong?
