Bishop, Cox, Talk About AG Endorsement

by: Christine

Sun Jun 29, 2008 at 06:00:00 AM EDT

This secret correspondence was recently uncovered by BFM's top-notch investigative blogger (That's me!)  In the interests of sunshine and transparency, we present it here for you.

Dear Mr. Attorney General Mike Cox,

I am writing to ask for your endorsement for the position of Attorney General, which I expect to pursue in 2010.  As you can see from my interview with this blog that I censored, I believe I am well qualified.

As you know, the position of Attorney General is all about dispensing justice, and for the past two years I have been tirelessly punishing Michigan residents for the crime of electing Granholm.  (HATE HER) I spent all of 2007 obstructing the budget process to the point of a government shutdown, even though we had an agreement as early as May.  I have also encouraged unscrupulous drug manufacturers and drunk or otherwise reckless drivers to wreak havoc on Michigan voters, by obstructing legislation that would protect so-called "victims."  I have never allowed any action on legislation that would stop Canadians from dumping their refuse in our residents' back yards, and I watered down the RPS to the point that it's nearly worthless.  Even Michigan's natural resources cannot escape Mike Bishop!

And don't even get me started on what I do to Senators who try to pass legislation, or to bloggers who say bad things about me.

For more of what I have not done, please visit this site and select any Senate Committee.  There you can see evidence of my commitment to dispensing justice to Michigan's voters.

I hope you will agree that I am the best man for your job.

Sincerely,
Senator Bishop

ps Love your smile

The Mike Cox response is over the fold ..

Christine :: Bishop, Cox, Talk About AG Endorsement
Dear Mr. Bishop,

Thank you for expressing your interest in my endorsement for the position of AG in 2010.

While you have done an outstanding job punishing Michigan's families, such as your intentional obstruction of legislation to ensure fair and equal insurance rates for all of Michigan's residents, the fact is that qualities such as this can be found in any Michigan Republican.  The person to follow in my shoes must strive for an excellence in electoral politics that I do not see in you.  Can you carry on an extramarital affair while lecturing Michigan citizens about the sanctity of marriage?  Do you have the audacity to write to the Supreme Court of another state and ask them to delay their ruling on gay marriage?

Senator, I'll give you credit for your refusal to act on the moratorium for home foreclosures that would stem the current crisis and keep Michigan residents in their homes.  I was also quite proud when you delayed the smoke-free legislation for so long that members of your own caucus were calling you an obstructionist.  But Michigan's Grand Old Party cannot rely simply on obstruction.  We need men of action!  Your refusal or inability to target a specific demographic that can be used as a wedge issue in elections tells me that you lack discipline and vision.

I am afraid that I cannot endorse you at this time.

Sincerely,
Mike Cox

Bahahaha! (4.00 / 5)
Poor Mike Bishop. No respect from anyone.

Not that he deserves it...

Beg to differ with Cox (4.00 / 2)
On this statement: Your refusal or inability to target a specific demographic that can be used as a wedge issue in elections tells me that you lack discipline and vision.

Bishop has been targeting all poor and middle-class Michiganders from day one. He only cares about businesses and rich people.

The Kreiner Decision Fix NOT!!! (4.00 / 3)
I am a victim of the Kreiner law and am sick and tired of these crooked politicians who side with the automobile insurance companies over the citizens of Michigan.  I don't care if it takes me the rest of my life, I am going to fight you useless and on-the-take politicians and Judges.  On behalf of myself and other seriously injured victims(who cannot help themselves) of car accidents who are left with no recourse against these multi-billion dollar profit auto insurance companies, your days are limited in politics.  You may fool some of the Michigan people, but not all.    You all need to be tried, convicted and sentenced to a physical therapy faciltiy or nursing home for the rest of your lives.  I have seen first-hand how Michigan's injured are treated.  It makes me sick that you are allowed to get away with this.  Forcing the taxpayers to take care of these injured victims for the rest of their lives, instead of having the automobile insurance companies pay, you have made Michigan worse off than it already was.  Apparently, according to current Michigan law(thanks to our crooked Michigan Supreme Court led by the "Gang of four."), having a Traumatic Brain Injury, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, 9 Hernited Disks, Post Traumatic Seizures, Poly-Radiculopathy(all injuries backed up by MRI's and other medical tests) and worse,  does not count as having a Serious Impairment or a change in one's "Normal Life."  When I paid my insurance premium I thought I was covered for something like this.  Apparently, I was not.  I also purchased an "Underinsurance" policy in case I was injured by someone that did not have adequate liability insurance to cover the injuries.   Well, in order for me to go after my underinsurance policy(which I wasn't aware of when I purchased it), I have to get the wreckless driver's full-policy amount, which I was offered(after a lot of fighting and legal costs), but I HAVE TO HAVE MY INSURANCE COMPANIES PERMISSION!  GUESS WHAT?  THEY WILL NOT GIVE ME PERMISSION TO SETTLE WITH THE OTHER INSURANCE COMPANY UNLESS I DROP THE UNDERINSURANCE SUIT AGAINST THEM!!!  I cannot let go of the underinsurance suit.  I owe thousands of dollars in medical and legal bills that need to be reimbursed and the other driver's full-policy amount will not even cover that!  Way to go morons!  What the heck did I pay for?

Kreiner (4.00 / 2)
Way to go, Captain Consumer Protection. The fact that he's considering an AG run is laughable.

Hysterical... (4.00 / 2)
Can you just imagine Mike (Bishop) sitting in his office, staring at the AG website humming "Feelings" and Mike (Cox) pacing his office muttering "I'm a Rules boy.  I'm a Rules boy."
