Now the video I shot of Trent Wisecup going crazy in Rochester is being used as a way to raise money for the 2008 Congressional race and put more Democrats in Congress. There's even a web site to send videos of Republicans behaving badly. CLICK HERE to submit your video.
Governor Howard Dean was in town on Sunday night for the 47th Annual Phil Hart Dinner and he spoke for a few minutes about how we can beat Joe Knollenberg in 2008.
McCotter said a better way to improve health care benefits for children was to increase "the supply of health care."
Sorry Congressman. You're wrong. If a child doesn't have access because their parents don't have money or insurance, all the supply in the world isn't going to help.
His flawed logic continues
He said the problem isn't with SCHIP but that Democrats were trying to "plug holes in Medicaid."
"Poor people have to have more control over access to health care, more focus on preventative care, extend tax credits and help them to set up their own medical accounts," he said.
That's right. Never fix a problem with the current system. Heaven forbid we should try and improve it. And where pray tell do you think they're going to get the money to put in medical savings accounts? If you don't have a job, or are otherwise having difficulty making ends meet, a tax credit doesn't do you a bit of good.
But, you haven't heard the best yet. It's from Knollenberg.
Rep. Joe Knollenberg, R-Birmingham, in a letter to the Observer & Eccentric, argues that increasing the tobacco tax encourages people to take up smoking to support the bill.
That is one of the worst arguments I've ever heard in my life.
Do you seriously believe that Joe? If you do, you ought to be ineligible for re-election by virute of insanity.
(Trent Wisecup is unbelievable! - promoted by Christine)
Well, I finally got to confront Joe Knollenberg about his votes on the war in Iraq and against SCHIP. Trent Wisecup, Joe's chief of staff got pretty heated. Watch for yourself.
